A phobia is an irrational fear of something.
I used to be terrified of spiders.
It was irrational to be afraid a tiny arachnid that could do me no harm.
By this light, if you want to talk about Islamophobia, you're going to have to demonstrate how being worried about it is irrational.
Especially, now, when we just had an Islamist murder a bunch of people with a pick-up in New Orleans.
Being afraid that might happen to you isn't being irrationally afraid. It's being prudent.
Never mind that they appear to LIKE it when people are afraid. Terrorism doesn't work if people aren't.
Cries against Islamophobia aren't really against bigotry. They're, for some reason, trying to prevent a justified backlash against terrorists and terrorism.
When Western Civ gets its jackboots on, it no longer cares about such polite constructs of worry about the people it's about to kill think about them. It simply goes industrial murder for as long as it takes.
Sure, it feels guilty afterwards and the people who did it drink a lot and don't talk about it.
But it's done. And done for the good of their civilization. Their civilization that they chose over the intruding one that was trying to kill them.
Thus is always civilizational conflict.
I've always pointed out that there are only two parts of this wonderful world under Islam. The Land of Islam, which curiously includes anywhere Islam may have somewhat flourished before being curbstomped by the locals (like Spain) and is literally the Dar-al-Islam, translates as Land of Subjugation. And The Land of War, which includes everywhere else, the Dar-al-Harb.
ReplyDeleteTerrorism, gang rapes, grenade attacks, murder, theft, any crime committed by a muslim in the Dar al Harb is totally allowed, and is encouraged by the Islamic holy book.
People just don't get it. They've been at war with us since Mohammad first got pissed.
I get tired of the overuse and misuse of the word "-phobia." As it happens, I'm mildly arachnophobic, and I KNOW what a real live phobia is like. Just because I (for instance) disapprove strongly of "transgender" nonsense and don't think it's possible to convert a man to a woman (or vice versa) through surgery, does not mean I'm "transphobic."
ReplyDeleteThere are a decent number of people with a wiring problem that cannot be cured. Changing the plumbing to match the wiring is chancy at best.
DeleteMany, perhaps most, of the people claiming the wiring problem probably don't have it and its making it difficult on the genuine cases.
Remember, start with compassion and work out from there. That way the ones that deserve help will get it and the ones that deserve scorn will also get it.
