Six Hours

Florida's Department of Law Enforcement does the background checks on firearms sales.

Yesterday, at one of the pawn shops, we overheard that the background call was taking upwards of six hours to get done.

Two people were in to pick up their gun from the previous day and were informed that their check had not yet come back.

Florida is also a waiting period state if you don't have a carry permit.  The waiting period doesn't start until you've passed your background check.

Lots of people, first time buyers, are discovering they've been lied to by the media and gun-control pundits with regards to how easy it is to buy a gun.

You can also see the lights coming on, "What else have they been lying to me about?"

  1. I don't understand these people, Angus. The gun debate shouldn't even BE a debate. History tells us what happens to people that don't defend themselves, and common sense does too. I wish the guys that slept in the best of luck... but at the end of the day I don't have much sympathy for them.

  2. Glen, I think it's more of a 'some people want to be ruled' situation. As in, 'Let someone else make all the decisions because logic and analytical thinking is too hard.'

Which, of course, explains the wannabegreekguy in California who shoots himself in the foot every time he opens his mouth, yet looks down upon us free-thinkers.
