76 years ago were D-Day.

  1. i wonder if they knew it would turn out this way, would they do it again. same about lincoln.... the courage it took for those guys on d-day, even as a career soldier i can't fathom it.

  2. Last year they had a big to-do over it, with a lot of commemorations. From now on, the commemorations will involve fewer and fewer veterans of the landings, merely due to the passage of time. Kind of like how the last big Union-Confederate reunion at Gettysburg was 75 years after the battle---they decided that the few surviving veterans were just getting too old to travel.
