I have the part number for the bolt that holds the crash-bar to the firewall.
11588735.
That's "Multi-Purpose Bolt, M8x1.25x100."
It originally appeared in an Opel in 1986.
Full description is:
This part is a bolt, hexagon flanged head, m8x1.25x100, 22 thread, 18 outside diameter, 8.8 steel, gmw3359, m-point intake manifold, for Chevrolet, Chevrolet Trucks, Buick, Saturn, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Cadillac, GMC Trucks, Opel, and Vauxhall cars. It fits for 113 Opel\Vauxhall vehicles which were sold in the U.S., Europe, and the UK from 1986 to 2013.
Really it's a bog standard Grade 8.8 bolt with zinc plating.
It's widely used too.
I am absolutely not worried about cutting 1/4" off this thing anymore.
