I just realized (all y'all prolly already figured it out) that I'm supposed to feel bad about the fact that there used to be slavery and hate myself because it was American White people who enslaved American Black people.
Except for one, teeny, thing.
WASN'T ME; DIDN'T DO IT
I decline to feel guilty for things I had no hand in.
I still say the 360,000 almost entirely white men who gave everything to end chattel slavery in the United States deserve a lot more credit for the accomplishment than they get. Never mind the hundreds of thousands more who fought for its ending on the battlefield.
Wasn't me, didn't do it here too. I deserve no credit for their deeds.
But it's interesting that, because I am White, I can be treated as if I had something to do with enslaving Blacks when I garner no credit for freeing them.
But I don't have any White guilt about it. My family is a bunch of Yankees and we didn't participate in slavery or Jim Crow.
So I won't wear the hair shirt and consider my purchase of the Basic Set 4eR as my license to mock the everloving shit out of Steve Jackson Games and the woke morons they hired to run the place into the ground.
I wish I could say it is my last purchase through them, but I'm miffed rather than angry and you have to do more than miff me to get a boycott out of me.
