Fingered

FuzzyGeff put his finger on why the virtue signalling in the new edition of GURPS rubs so wrong.

They really think we needed it explained that slavery was wrong.

Condescending is the word, I believe.

They're acting like they're a guiding moral compass, but they're a fucking toy company.

  1. The people who don't think slavery was wrong are not going to care what SJG says about it. Everyone else they are at best preaching to the choir to virtue signal. Either way, there's no need for it. They aren't going to change anyone's opinion whether they agree or disagree. And yeah... in general why would anyone look to SJG for their moral compass to begin with, even if it was something they could potentially be reaching people on something they don't already know?

  2. They're not trying to convince us that slavery was wrong. Every reasonable person thinks so. They are announcing their political allegiance. If someone points this out, they "must be pro-slavery."

    1. If they get to that point I tell them if they really want to convince me that they're against slavery, they need to vote for the party that ended it. Republican.
