In 1996, my family went to the airport to pick up our Romanian exchange student, a scared 16 year old girl that had only read about America, but spoke English (well, the Queen's English, which it turns out she had a lot to learn about American English). She had a very successful year with us, and truly became part of our family. She came back to America for financial training for her job in Paris in NYC around 2007, and came to visit us. She returned with her parents in 2009 for a family vacation and they stayed with us for a few days. Last Summer, we went to Barcelona, Spain for her wedding.
While she was a young child under Communism and doesn't remember much about it specifically, her parents certainly had some insight. Idiots that think socialism (which always eventually degrades to communism) like Bernie, AOC, and the rest of the Demon-Craps need to talk to those that actually lived under it. Not just egg-head academics and their "theories."
