Schrodinger's Impeachment

I wish I'd coined that title.

Apparently, according to Constitutional scholars we're in a weird place.

Once The House of Representatives passed articles of impeachment, The Senate can begin the trial.

AND

An impeachment has not occurred until The House presents the articles to The Senate, so they can't do anything until such a presentation happens.

There's also some speculation that un-presented articles become void once the 117th Congress is sworn in on January 3, 2021.

Depending on things...

The Senate can do something right away, but doesn't have to do anything until The House gets off their asses; and if they don't then it evaporates like a fart on the wind come election day 2020.
