The likelihood of a second batch seemed doubtful.
It appears that a second delivery of pistols has been, ever so quietly, to the CMP.
From ARFCOM:
Just finished the CMP Advanced Maintenance Class.
Straight from Mark Johnson, they are into their 2nd batch of 1911s. He is keeping it on the down low due to the furor about everything 1911 and the CMP.
Golly gee willickers Mr Johnson, I think if you'd learn to communicate there would have been a lot less furor.
There's a shit ton of "because we said so" from the CMP and they broke NO asking of "why".
Their means of disseminating information virtually guarantees misunderstanding and rancor.
It should have been a clue to them that so many people kept asking the same questions and saying the explanations didn't make sense.
It should not have taken, literal, years to suss out the truth, especially when it turns out the explanations were simple and straightforward. It was the cagey manner the CMP replied to the repeated inquiries that got people's blood up and convinced them that something untoward was going on in Aniston.
It's good, however, that they got more guns and are filling the orders as promised.
It would have been better if this ball had gotten rolling in the early 90's and Cap'n Crunch had not been so well fed.
