The mighty FIE Titan in .25 ACP!
The first gun I carried concealed regular like, and illegally because Story County, Iowa was a no-issue county.
Illegal carry was a misdemeanor, and a not that bad fine at the time, so the risk was small.
It's why I chuckle at "law abiding gun owner" sometimes.
I still feel I was morally correct in ignoring such an immoral law.
Quite often there was a Glock in my gaming bag too.
When I moved down here, Florida's gun laws were substantially better than Iowa's. Now the only thing better about Florida's laws is being allowed to own a registered NFA item.
I sometimes carried a Jennings J-22 when I lived in Iowa. And I also often had a larger handgun in a backpack too. Likewise when I moved down here to Texas the laws were significantly better. Now they've caught up a lot. I don't have anything NFA, but I could. Iowa's rules on signage (or lack thereof) are better than here, where they can post "30.06/30.07/30.05" signs and we have the "51%" signs for bars. However, the penalties at least for the latter have been cut back to where it is a slap on the wrist. There is a possibility they will eventually be eliminated entirely including the 51% rules. But things move slowly.
ReplyDeleteInterestingly enough... Despite all the libtard whinging... legal carry is just not a problem. Almost all the problems are caused by people who are prohibited or not carrying according to the rules. Even with "constitutional carry" there are still some rules. The non-law abiding are generally breaking a bunch of them, and not minor things usually either.
I used to know a guy who carried a Browning BDA .380 in his right rear pocket with a bandana draped over it.
ReplyDeleteSaid he carried it into quite a few bars, no one the wiser. He wasn't planning on using it unless he was threatened. I'm guessing those same thoughts were why that FIE was carried (just in case).
I still own a FIE imported handgun, an Erma-Excam RX-22 rimfire pistol. Nice pocket pistol.

Second the comment about the Excam being a nice little pistol. God help you if you want a spare magazine. I ended up buying a second pistol with two.

ReplyDeleteEver seen a Galesi .25? Like this? Top picture on that website. Also in .25 ACP. Although I think its ergonomics look a little better than the FIE.
ReplyDeleteMy dad used to work at the downtown Miami post office and started carrying one of these. That was around '68 or so, right before he had a work injury that aggravated a WWII injury and had him medically retire. Now it's a family heirloom and lives in the safe.
