Ben Pollara is correct; the effects of his proposal are very simple.
He's dissembling about what those effects really are.
Dissembling is a nice way to say, "lying through your fucking teeth".
I'm hoping that they manage to keep it off the ballot, because I'd be very worried about it going to a vote. There are a lot of people who don't bother to actually look up these amendments before voting.
If you don't get the NSSF emails, check this out. There are lawsuits to take it off the ballot for being misleading, including one by our attorney general. Instead of banning "assault weapons", it essentially bans every semiautomatic long gun ever made. I imagine they see that as a feature, not a bug.
ReplyDeleteThe suits are supposed to be heard in the state supreme court if BAWN gets the required number of signatures, but they've got about 15% of the number they need.
