I look at this spring assembly:
My curious monkey mind is saying, "take it apart!"
My more rational lizard brain is saying, "take a nap."
I hope this part is cheap and readily available because I just KNOW I'm going to try taking it apart and not be able to get it back together.

Since you know you're going to take it apart, I'll only say to do it in close to clear glass (or plastic) box as you can get. I'm thinking clear glove box, but gloves are a bitch to wear if you need fingertip sensitivity, so go with as much visibility around the springs as you can and if there's an air gap around your hands, it's better than nothing.
ReplyDeleteThis is so that when parts of the recoil springs try to leave for some alternate universe, at least there's some chance you contain them.
I'll take something like that apart inside a zip-lock bag. Although that nice plastic box would be sweet to have...
