No Van Halen Reunion

Eddie Van Halen has shuffled off the coil mortal.

When I was growing up, his music was inescapable.

It was also tainted by being popular and thus beneath the notice of we dirtheaded punk and metal fans.

Rest in peace, Eddie, you were a damn good guitarist and cancer sucks.

  1. I liked Van Halen. I liked Sammy Hagar. I did not particularly care for Van Hagar. I mean there were certainly worse things. And then there was the Gary Cherone thing. But there is certainly no question that Eddie was one of the most influential guitar players since Jimi Hendrix.

Cancer does suck. I personally think Eddie's cancer was probably due to years of smoking. Probably drinking and other drug usage didn't help, but I mostly think neck and throat cancer is smoking related. So please quit if you smoke. I've lost way too many people to cancer, and I'd rather not lose any more if it can be helped.
