Unofficial

"Ostende nobis ubera tua!" is the unofficial motto of just about every combat arms regiment ever fielded.

Take note.

Sure sounds more elegant than in English.

Or German... "Zeig uns deine BrĂ¼ste!" isn't elegant at all.

  1. To be fair, though the German version isn't exactly elegant, German is one of the top European languages (Russian being another) in which the imperative form sounds truly imperative.

(As an aside, for Mardi Gras 2006 [the first post-Katrina], some enterprising souls produced T-shirts with the English version, with smaller print below that [approximately, as this is from memory] said "FEMA will forward your beads in 6 to 8 weeks.")
