Daniel Defense has acquired Hudson and has a new version of the H9 coming out.
Skipping to the important part: $1,299 MSRP.
Colion Noir likes it.
For the price, it'd better be great!
But for the street price of three Glocks?
Is it substantially better or just marginally better?
Daniel Defense, you wanna send me one to review?
Neat... But I'm too Scottish apparently to be the target audience for it. I'd rather have a nice Glock or clone and a bunch of ammo for that price :-) But whatever works for you...
ReplyDeleteI'm Scots-Italian. That means that not only am I cheap, I don't have any money to begin with.
DeleteI'm not the target market for this gun, but I've been following the design idea since Ian first interviewed the Hudsons at SHOT 2016.
A buddy of mine has a Hudson H9, and he even got one of the aluminum frames for it.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say it's any better (for me) than *insert other semi-auto handgun here*. I have a bit of handgun ADHD so I've got a variety to compare it with. I wouldn't call myself an expert, even though I've been into firearms for over forty years.
And I agree with you and Paul, Angus, in that I'd rather have something else and spend the remainder of the money on ammunition and range time.
This is good news for anyone with a broken Hudson since parts will be available. I'm also not the target market but if they don't Osborne themselves again there are enough people willing to spend that level of money for either technical curiosity or perceived advantage to stay afloat with the support of DD.
ReplyDeleteFrom watching the vid, it appears that only one tiny spring is the same between the two guns.
DeleteThe new one just takes advantage of the patent they bought.
