I recognized it because a buddy of mine had three of these things, he was obsessed.
Like this one, all had a 429 motor.
We saw this one waiting in line for our laps at Daytona on Monday.

All of the interesting Ford products of that era were rare even back in the day, and usually stupidly expensive to buy and even more stupidly expensive to find parts for.
