Underscore

He doesn't actually say it, but he's explaining that pistols with braces have always been short barreled rifles.

ATF had no more authority to declare them OK back when then they did on outlawing bump-stocks; it just broke for us rather than against us that time.

Being cool with them making such rulings when it's in our favor legitimizes their power grab too.

But in a world where pistols are legal, it makes no sense to keep a law banning rifles from being poor emulations of pistols.  Or banning pistols from being shitty emulations of rifles!  Same same.

Laws which make no sense to the layman lead to contempt of such laws then fester into contempt for all laws and that eventually delegitimizes the government completely.

No government at all is not a happy place, despite what libertarian utopian idealists say.

  1. To be fair to all the "BATFE sucks bat feces" people, the whole SBR is badthink is really stupid and was legislated in order to punish the people who had valid reasons to have them.

Yes, braces were a workaround. What should have happened rather than the BATFE saying braces are A-Okay is the BATFE being dissolved and all the gun and boom and knife and other arms controls for We the People also being tossed onto the ash-heap of history.

Pistol braces, rifle-butted pistols, SBRs, sawed-off shotguns, knuckledusters, brass knuckles, spike-daggers and bayonets and all of the other things were, by WWI, a real thing used in trench warfare, by tank and artillery crews, by drivers and train crews and air crews and, really, all over the war field. Which should have been pointed out to the FedGov with very stern words and prison sentences to violators of the 2A, but wasn't.

Seriously. Yes, it was an attempt to circumvent the SBR and other rules (can't make one out of the other, but can make the other out of one) but should never ever ever had to be worried about to begin with.

Like the whole BS about what is the 'firearm' portion of the firearm. Who cares. There shouldn't be any records or tax stamps or background checks or anything. Screw them all.
