I'm not shocked that the vote for Speaker of the House didn't go McCarthy's way.

The Republican party is, as always, divided against itself.

Mainly between the representatives who want to do what the voters told them to do and the faction that wants things to remain as they've always been.

That latter group is generally referred to as RINO (just in case there's even a single reader here who doesn't know there's Republicans In Name Only).

The spoiler vote, this time, appears to be from a very small faction of the former group that really wants to pare the government back down to its constitutional limits.

I wish them Godspeed!
