Gen 1 Again

Lipsey's is doing another exclusive with Glock.

This time, a proper Glock 17 Gen 1 instead of Austrian military markings.

 

I might just go scorched earth on the gun-safe to snag one.

My Glock nostalgia extends to this generation because that's the one I carried on the Czech-German border.

    I have a Gen one that is so old that plastic on the edge of the mag well is chipping off. SN# EU XXX. Also the texture was all worn smooth, so I put a sandpaper type grip wrap on it. And it's now going to a safe place, that I better write down about its location, lest I forget. :)

    So, I bought a 19X. Very nice. Just like a 17, but a modern grip texture, and the barrel/slide is only ~1/2 in. shorter. And it accepts all of my various mags for the 17.

    My Gen 2 is a placeholder for the Gen 1 I used to have in Germany. I got a G45 blue label on a whim and it's in the same ballpark as a 19X. Good shooter.

    I've got a Gen 2 Glock 17 and 22. Everything glock-ish for me recently has been P80 (several different models, PF940V2, PF940C, PF940SC, PF9SS, etc) other than one 80% Arms GST-9.
