The Boy asked me to explain why Frodo wasn't in The Hobbit.
He'd missed that The Hobbit is a prequel to The Lord of the Rings.
I'm not sure he fully understands the timeline, but he's got the relative times now.

You know, the more I think about it, it is confusing. "The Hobbit" should have been film 1, then TLOTR(s).
ReplyDeleteJust wish "The Hobbit" trinary wasn't so darned... booooooring. Could have been smoothed down to 2 movies of bloated length rather than three. And no need to add too many other storylines, start with just what's in the book.
Sigh.
There is a cut of the Hobbit movies called the Tolkien edit that removes most of the extraneous bits (cuts it down to about 4 hours). There are many other fan cuts of the hobbit movies if that one doesn't strike your fancy.
