ANOTHER fucking water leak under the motherfucking slab.
Can't even ask you to stab the donation button because PayPal went stupid.
FML, this has been the worst two fucking years of my life and that includes comparing to being in traction for six months.
MAYBE- just maybe you can talk to a plumber and depending on where the leak is- they can reline the pipe.
ReplyDeleteIt won't be cheap, but probably a little less expensive than jackhammering up the slab.
Sounds like it's time to re-pipe the house through the attic with PEX. Plumbing outfit in Central Florida I know does 2 re-pipes a week, they're recommendation is "re-pipe after the third pinhole leak or any under-lab leak.
ReplyDeleteAnd, while re-piping isn't cheap - last time I checked (~ 10 years ago) it was about $3.5-4K for the "standard" 2,000 sq ft house in FL with 2 + 1/2 baths, it offers the opportunty to install some upgrades like a tankless propane water heater, and a full re-pipe is "one and done" - resolves all the potential future leak problems.

This happened to a close friend of mine here in Central Florida. He re piped through the attic, 3/2 cost 8k and he was a friend of the company he had do the work. Others wanted 10k and up. Still better than fighting those old copper pipes that will leak again.
