Quittin' Time

This might be a good place to end this.

I'm honestly sick of my natural inclination to worry about if people like me enough to stop worrying if people like me and bother to read this.

Too many people just stop without saying goodbye.

So long and thanks for all the fish.

  1. I like to read your stuff. On many of the political and current event things you talk about many of the things you bring up match the direction I was thinking but not able to articluate so plainly and nobody else seems to want to say them. If this is the end of the blog, thanks for posting what you have and good luck in your future endeavors.

  2. It's easy enough to take a break from daily posting. If, however, your mind is made up, then thanks for all the good writing. Best of luck in future endeavors.

  3. I appreciate the courtesy of letting us know. That being said, I'll be keeping your blog in the RSS reader, just in case.

  4. Aw, man, just when I started being able to comment. It sooooo sucks having a last name start with "W."

Good luck, play well with your guns, think of us once in a while, and we'll be here if you ever decide to play again.

Thanks for all the great stuff you've posted.

  7. Sad to read it, but I can totally understand.

  8. Same sentiments as all of the above, but know ye that what makes this-a blog fun for a reader is the leaps taken by the author, I mean really, where else can you get automotive diagnostics and mishaps, firearms and law related adventure all rolled into one fluffy batch of commentary? Stay sane, whatever direction you take.

  9. I am less determined to give up after reading these replies than when I made the post.

    Thanks!

  10. I also enjoy your writings. Sorry I don't comment more. :-/

  11. Yeah. You can't stop. Some one has to validate my love of archaic cartridges and hate of the NFATCA.

  12. I'm sorry to see you go; I've enjoyed many (though not all) of your scribblings.

  13. Just adding my two cents - you've got an unusual blog that I enjoy stopping by for. I don't understand a word about that GURPS shit and I think half of your short comments only makes sense to you and one or two other people, but it's easy to skip the parts that don't mean anything to me. I enjoy the gun content and experimentation. As for the rest, write what you care about.

    Enjoy your newly freed time!

  14. Dude, you can't quit now. We love you even, even though most of us agree with SiGraybeard. Besides, I'm still waiting for more shooting results from the .300 Savage...............

  15. Hey Angus;

Dang, that is what I get for praising your blog on my blog a few weeks ago. I read everything you post, I don't always comment but I read it. If you have to take a "digital decompression" for a bit then do that, don't quit. You will find yourself getting banned from Facebook or something...that is why I blog.

  16. I do not comment much, but I usually try to swing by once a day to see what is new and interesting in the way of old guns and Corvette problems. If you do quit I will still swing by every now and again just to see if you came back for a time.

    Regards,

    J.D. Brown

  17. Really, where else would we get our gamer-gunner-ranter fix from? Take some time off, shoot somethings, game a good game or two. Relax and regroup and then evaluate if you want to chuck out the whole ball of wax.

Plus... How else will we find out about whether or not you've fixed your cars, found the most obscure regional gun part for some obscure, regional gun and so forth?

    Take care.

  18. Hey Angus, whether you take a hiatus or stop altogether, I wish you fair winds and following seas.

I'll go hoist a bit of Zaya rum to your health. And that's a rum suggestion for you if you get tired of the four roses. :)

Take care of yourself, The Boy, and the Lovely Harvey.
