Anachronism

I'm pretty sure that when the Egyptians and Romans fought, they had nearly identical kit and the Egyptian would not be using a bronze khopesh.

  1. Indeed. It seems that by the time the Italians showed up, everybody who was anybody in western Asia and north Africa had adopted Greek-ish plate armor and stabby sticks. Certainly the Team Nile offensive line would have been so equipped, although the militia might have carried an occasional khopesh (from the local Army Surplus outlet), clubs, the equivalent of a "grubbing hoe, and some AKs (broadhead Arrows for Killing). The much later knights also had a rag-top to keep down the solar heating, but both the later knights and the Boys of Nile almost certainly had a metal pot under their "skirts". They were primitive, not stupid.
