Ordered two pair of jeans from Amazon.
I thought I was ordering the same size and brand I was already wearing, except without stains and holes.
Apparently not.
The front pockets are 2/3 the size of the old jeans. I'm having trouble getting my wallet in there.
So I look hard at the labels.
Amazon stocks Wrangler Authentic.
The jeans I was seeking to replace were simply Wrangler.
The Authentics lack the wee little red tag and have a different back pocket stitching as well.

Don't feel bad. About 2 years ago I ordered 2 pair of Wrangler cargo pants from Wrangler, direct. Those wore out, so I looked at the labels and ordered the "exact same" replacements. Only to find out that in the ensuing time, the "exact same" replacements went from 100% cotton to some mix of cotton/spandex, changed completely in tailoring, pocket size/placement (lower on the leg) and for some idiot reason, the phone slot pocket on the left side moved to the right side, just where the phone gets smashed by the center console and seat belt anchor. Does not matter what apparel it is, shoes, socks, pants, underwear, anything done 1 or 2 years prior is no longer the same, all merchants move their production and sourcing to the cheapest vendor and lose complete control of quality standards. Tired of it. Makes a good case for adopting bed sheet togas or the Scots equivalent.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I had trouble finding the correct Wranglers on Amazon, too. I ordered two pair that were called vintage thinking that they would be my old standards. Those things looked like they were sitting in a store window for years and had all kinds of weird fade patterns on them. Sent them back and got a pair of my size in cowboy cut. They were so tight in the crotch that my cajones were forcibly retracted. Sent those back. Relaxed fit were so baggy that they made me look as old as I really am. Finally found the correct ones. Wrangler Authentics Men's Classic 5-Pocket Regular Fit Jean in stonewashed dark. Those are exactly the ones that I've been wearing for decades now. Got four pairs........
