Minimum wage has its roots in racism.
How is that?
You see, recently emancipated slaves would work at a far lower rate than their white counterparts.
Can't have that!
So you pass a law that establishes the salary the white workers draw as the floor.
Add in other Jim Crow bullshit and you squeeze black workers from the labor market for anything but the most unskilled jobs.
