To keep the nightmares down to a dull roar, I play a movie or a playlist of movies on a laptop to sleep by.
This morning I awoke and there was no movie running.
The screen was black, as if it'd gone to sleep, but the power button wasn't doing its cute little "breathing" thing.
Likewise the other indicator lights were dark.
A short push of the power button got a response like an initial boot, but it went back to dark.
Uh oh!
A long push got her to fire up enough to tell me that it was in critical battery mode.
I'd managed to unplug it from the power adapter somehow.
The plug was just barely not connected at the back of the computer.
Damn, that was scary.
