For everyone complaining they don't want their taxes to pay for...____________.
You do know you're still paying taxes regardless, right?
It's not like if you manage to get a program you don't like cut from the budget that you will get a break on your taxes next year because that program is no longer funded.
You're still on the hook.
So, relax, and let the hook do its work.
Kind of... I did not want my State income taxes to go to Illinois to line specific pockets of those connected. So, moved to Texas with no State income taxes.... Not easy to do, and of course I do still pay taxes, but there is a VERY small degree of choice...
ReplyDeleteThe strangeness of how Iowa does income tax was not a small consideration when I emigrated to Florida.

DeleteI want to say that, too- but OTOH, I want to think my taxes are going for what I want and some Lefty who H8's what I want has his taxes got to something stupid that he wants.
ReplyDeleteSo it kinda evens out.
Too bad we're both paying too much in taxes though...
So how would this work:
ReplyDeleteMuch less amount of taxes determined by government. No more public taxes funding solely determined by government. Allow EACH taxpayer to decide where their taxes go to as primary. You want Planned Parenthood to be a beneficiary - your call. Because it is your 'pound of flesh' (i.e. money)
The remainder left is put in slush fund, where government determines how much to who. Any shortfalls - that is where government needs to work with each other. And the amount is all there is - no more borrowing from the future.
As a tax payer, I know some benefits are required to be payed. I just get angry when somebody else determines that full amount goes to a party I would rather not pay for.
