Just out of curiosity, what keeps the big middle piece (dimensioned at 3.8110 and 4.6860) from sliding to the right?

It's welded to the tube. I sectioned it so that it looks solid, but it's really a cross-shape. That's the part that threads to the barrel. The HEL uses a rear expansion chamber.
