Why S&W Why?

S&W has introduced an aluminum frame version of the M&P 9 2.0.

I am interested.

Dammit!

It's supposedly just 2 oz. heavier than the polymer framed equivalent and it takes the normal M&P 17-round magazines.

I dunno WHY I am interested, because I'm generally happy with the M&P 9 I already have.

New and shiny always has an appeal, I guess.

Though, I think that the aluminum framed SIG P320 is purtier.

  2. An aluminum frame can be anodized in bright colors like a 1990s mountain bike

  3. the "weight savings" with polymer vs aluminum seems to be around 1-2 ounces given all other things equal. Compare a P07 to a P01 and the weight is essentially the same. Given that, I'll take metal every time. What really makes a pistol lighter is a striker instead of a hammer. Hammers add weight.. but I like hammers. -Jking
