Fashion Victim

Since my go "bag" is a plate carrier...

When its time to repel looters I will be wearing body armor.

It seems sensible to wear the PASGT helmet I snagged too.

BUT!

The plate carrier is coyote brown.

The PASGT helmet has a woodland cover.

How gauche!

At this point I am wondering if I should even bother getting the kilt out for storms.

Might as well just wear short-shorts and a wife-beater like all the neighbors.

  1. The woodland/desert/coyote brown mixup was "standard" circa 2005 before the ACU rollout. Sadly, the mix camouflaged better than the ACU pattern.

  2. When in Rome do as the Romans... When in Holiday... wife beater and shorts. Why fight it?

  3. I believe USMC Commandant Grey was famed for wearing mismatched camo. There is precedent.

  4. There's solid precedent for mixing patterns in variable terrain. British units in Helmand did that as policy mixing desert and woodland DPM to try and cover for the very different conditions moving between irrigated areas and arid zones. For Florida I think it's time to develop a Suburban pattern to blend in with the local terrain
