My uninterruptible power source has decided to be interruptible.

Dead batts.

I discovered this the hard way when the power gave a hiccup during a thunderstorm.

New batts on order.

  1. Before you trust your extensive electronics to a UPS, do this simple test, plug an incandescent lamp into it. Not an LED or florescent. Interrupt the power. If you see the light dim, that is ok. As long as it comes back. Then reconnect the power to the UPS.

If the light goes extra bright, it means the output went over voltage. This is bad for electronics.
