73 Plus 5

The Korean War has, officially, been raging for 73 years (and five days) today.

That's got to be some sort of record.

  1. The Korean War Memorial Association says that veterans are eligible for status at the memorial if they have 30 days in county continuous or 60 days total before like 1995 or something. Because it still is a war and we still lose people due to it (though mostly it's South Koreans, the occasional active death occurs, usually due to mines or crap like that, but 'passive' non-combat but still military deaths occur.)

  2. Look at the bright side: the deaths/day average for the war is dropping like a stone.
